Shelby County's Premier Ballet Company and Training Program

THE ALABAMA YOUTH BALLET COMPANY is a nonprofit Pre- professional Youth Ballet Training program and performance company of Dancers.

Founded in 2004, the organization has gained a distinctive reputation for its innovative programming, artistic excellence, and extensive community outreach.  We are looking forward to one having a world-class dance and performance space to house both the dance company and the school.  The Alabama Youth Ballet Company is the only pre professional and 501c3 non-profit youth ballet company in Shelby County.  The AYBC presents professionally-styled classical and contemporary ballet performances including Shelby County's only civic performance of The Nutcracker. 

The Alabama Youth Ballet Company relies heavily on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to carry out its
mission.

As a non-profit organization in the

performing arts field, support from

individuals and organizations is critical.

This support takes the following forms:

  * individual gifts

  * corporate gifts/grants

  * foundation grants

  * corporate sponsorship

The Alabama Youth Ballet Company's mission is to:

  * create and present ballets of excellence that are designed to be stimulating, culturally relevant and appropriate to children and adult audiences;

  * create an innovative approach to ballet training that welcomes diversity, and ensures unanimous participation and achievement by all students;

  * create sustainable, inclusive and engaging outreach programs that make ballet accessible to participants of all racial, cultural  and economic backgrounds; and

  * reposition the role of dance in our culture and expand its purpose in the education of youth and enrichment of the community, locally and beyond.
